ASSISTANT HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR
We are currently recruiting for a well-established, privately-owned construction business who are
seeking to appoint an Assistant Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor.
Where you will be reporting to the Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager and/or Group
Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Manager.
Roles and responsibilities:
Assist the Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, to ensure compliance with
procedures and legislation, adopting best practise within the Group.
Attend Group SHE meetings to share best practise and provide feedback on the effectiveness
of the systems in place.
Provide support to the Company on SHE issues, ensuring compliance with legislation and
industry standards.
Assist in the implementation and promotion of robust SHE procedures across the Company.
Recommend improvements to working methods and procedures to raise safety standards,
reduce accidents and incidents and improve the working environment.
Carry out site health, safety and environmental audits and Head Office sit inspections as
required (please see Qualifications required).
Assist in accident/incident investigations, providing detailed reports with cause analysis and
recommended remedial actions.
Assist in the review and update of the Company’s generic risk assessments and COSHH
assessments, the Construction Phase Health, Safety and Environmental Plan template and the
Company Site Waste Management Plan template
Assist the implementation of the Company’s annual Training Plan / in line with the Group
Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.
Monitor Site Waste Management Plans are closed out in a timely manner.
Assist the production team on Contractors BREEAM requirements.
Participate in annual SHE awareness courses for site staff and operatives, production,
commercial and estimating staff.
Attend and minute quarterly meetings with the Company’s Safety Representatives including
Head Office.
Assist with external and internal QSEMS audits within the Company.
Carry out support duties to the Estimating/Bid Department as required. This may include site
visits, site logistics, risk assessments and method statements.
Attend interviews and presentations with potential Clients when required.
Assist in the maintenance, issue and storage of HSE records.
Attend CPD events.
Carry out other duties that the Company reasonably requests.
Ideal Candidate:
Graduate with a construction-related degree
Project a positive, enthusiastic and professional approach to the role actively promoting a
positive HSE culture.
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable dealing with all levels in
the business.
