DO Recruitment are delighted to be retained as recruitment partner for a well-established, privatelyowned construction business who are seeking to appoint a Group Supply Chain Manager.
You will be reporting to the Commercial Director and will be working closely with and alongside all
members of the management team.
Roles and responsibilities:
 Receive and review applications from sub-contractors for inclusion on the Approved List.
 Review all sub-contractors on our Approved List annually.
 Oversee and administer the approval process.
 Receive sub-contractor appraisal scores and enter onto Database.
 Maintain the Database records.
 Maintain the historical record of sub-contractor’s annual turnover.
 Establish rebate opportunities as appropriate and negotiate.
 Interview sub-contractors as required by the Directors.
 Formally represent the Company as required by the Directors.
 Keep colleagues informed of potential new sub-contractors and change in status of
established sub-contractors.
 Attend the internal handover meeting and receive tender documents.
 Review the tender documents.
 Work with Contracts and Site management.
 Obtain credit checks on all sub-contractors prior to appointing to a Project and review and
report findings.
 Select suppliers based on their ability to meet the Company’s requirements.
 Evaluate value engineering opportunities in conjunction with the Project Team.
 Continually develop product and market knowledge.
 Ensure Site Managers are appraised of exceptional COSHH or health and safety concerns.
 Keep Quantity Surveyors informed of any changes to sub-contractor’s status.
 Ensure the Company’s position is protected as legislative and common law allow.
 File documents appropriately.
 Attend ‘lessons learnt’ meetings and provide input and/or suggestions.

Ideal Candidate:
 Extensive supply chain experience gained within a main contractor who operate in the
construction sector
 Knowledge of using cloud-based business tools such as Firefly and Local Supply Chain
 Self-motivated individual who works on their own initiative and has a ‘hands-on’ style
 Motivated by results and an ‘on-time’ focus
 Strong analytical, financial and numerical skills, sound decision-making abilities
